On August 26, Dr. Sergelen Munkh-Ochir, the vice president of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Mongolia, and Dr. Akihiko Nishiyama, the honorary professor of IET, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Yasushi Nishimura, the President of OIT.
In the meeting, we discussed the possibility of our interactions such as International Project-Based Learning (iPBL) Program and Twinning Program, considering conclusion of a MOU in the future. In addition, our cutting-edge research faculties and the situation where our students were doing their project activities were introduced in the Monodzukuri Center (MONOLAB.).
Dr. Sergelen expressed his resolution “I would like to positively introduce the practical education of Japanese manufacturing into Mongolia in order to change our present situation, because the higher education of Mongolia has been strongly influenced by the one of Russian Federation."
It is expected that this visit will trigger the development of new academic collaborations with universities in Mongolia.
